It was my pleasure to formally introduce Malin (Mary) of Chattanooga to an eager group of local dancers the weekend
of May 31. Many people there already knew Malin; she has been setting stages ablaze since she first hit the bellydance scene more
than 7 years ago. Malin was the first Orientale dancer locally to re-introduce audiences to the excitement and beauty of superior
sword work -- and has since set herself apart as an instructor with extensive real-world sword acumen with a fearlessness to
innovate challenging and entertaining swordplay. (She would never say that about herself -- but I'M SAYING it!)
Mary and I began together way back when, inspired by our first teacher Alexia. Mary came into this art with solid dance training and
performance experience -- and a fire and discipline that every teacher covets and prays for! She has gone on to study intensively
with the top names in Orientale Dance and through her own motivation, talent and passion, has developed a signature technique
and artistry that is all her own.
It was an honor to be her first workshop sponsor -- and all of us are looking forward to many more in the future! Just keep an eye on
this girl!
